Before you make your first post
Practical answers about footage, sharing and what StudentFlow does for your studio.
What is StudentFlow?
StudentFlow turns a studio's own class footage into short social videos and captions. It helps dance and fitness studios prepare posts regularly, with the owner reviewing the result before sharing.
Who is it for?
Studio owners and instructors who have classes worth showing but struggle to find time to turn their footage into regular social posts.
What do I need to get started?
An email address, your studio's name and some class footage you're allowed to use. Your website or Instagram profile can help with setup, but you can start without them.
How much footage should I upload?
Start with a few clear clips showing different aspects of a class. A short teaching moment, some practice and a view of the group give you a useful starting point. The variety and clarity matter more than filming everything.
Does the footage need to look professional?
No. Phone footage is fine. Keep the camera steady, use enough light and make the activity easy to see. Very dark, blurred or obstructed footage gives StudentFlow less to work with.
I don't have footage yet. What should I film?
At your next class, capture a clear demonstration, a short period of practice and a wider view of the session. Check permission before filming for marketing, and avoid interrupting the class to get a shot.
Can I edit the words?
Yes. Review the wording and caption, check the details and make changes before sharing the post.
Does it post to my accounts for me?
No. You download the finished video and share it with its caption on Instagram or Facebook yourself, so you decide what appears on your accounts and when.
Do I still need to check each post?
Yes. Check the footage, class information, wording, music and next step. You know your studio and decide whether a post is ready to share.
What about permission to use people's images?
Only upload and publish footage you have the rights and permissions to use. Make sure the people responsible for filming at your studio understand which footage can be used for marketing. StudentFlow does not replace that check.
What about music?
Music requirements depend on the track, platform and whether the post is organic or paid advertising. Follow the platform's guidance for your intended use. Do not assume music recorded in a class is cleared for marketing.
Does StudentFlow generate people or pretend to film my studio?
No. The posts use the footage you upload from your own classes. Show prospective students the real experience you offer.
Will posting consistently guarantee new students?
No. Regular posts give people more opportunities to discover and understand your classes. Results also depend on your audience, offer, location and how you handle inquiries. Judge your progress using inquiries and attendance as well as engagement.
Do I need paid ads?
No. Start with ordinary social posts. Paid advertising is an optional additional activity with its own budget and setup.
Does this replace my booking system?
No. Continue using your existing system for bookings, memberships and payments. Give viewers the relevant link or instructions for taking the next step.
Who owns my footage?
Your footage remains yours. Read the Privacy Policy and Terms for how StudentFlow processes uploaded material and what happens when you close your account.
What does it cost?
A$29 per studio per month in Australia, or US$19 in the US. It is free to try with no credit card required. Advertising spend, if you choose to run ads, is separate.
